Each year, wine lovers wait
with anticipation for the latest vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau.
FIAF hosts its annual celebration, inviting members
and guests to participate in this highly-anticipated
wine ritual. Guests mingle while tasting vintages
from different companies and indulging in French charcuteries,
pâtés, cheeses,
breads, and other savory treats.
The Ordre
des Compagnons du Beaujolais will induct Caroline Webber,
Professor of French Literature at Columbia
University and Barnard College, and Charlie
Rose, the esteemed newscaster, to their New York chapter, during
this celebratory evening.
Esteemed wine writer Robert V.
Camuto, a regular contributor to Wine
Spectator
and The Washington Post will present and sign his
latest book, Corkscrewed: Adventures in the New
French Wine Country (Nebraska University Press).
French singer and songwriter Pascalito will
present his “nouveau” vintage of colorful chanson française
and Latin jazz fusion.
Various prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening,
including: a pair of round-trip tickets to Paris, courtesy
of American Airlines; a three-course tasting menu with
Beaujolais/Burgundy pairings at Alain Ducasse’s Bistro Benoît; two subscriptions
to France-Amérique and France Today; and other surprises from Les
Trois Petits Cochons, Artisanal Premium Cheese, French Cheese Club USA, and Anne
de Solène USA.
