Improvisation in French • All levels

In this 5-week course, you will be working with international theater director and acting coach Aurelia Nolin. You will improve your French through the liberating tools of theater. You will discover the strings of improvisation en française. You will learn stress relief, vocal and breathing techniques.

It is not necessary to be bilingual to join this class; we will accommodate all levels.

Day 1: Presence & voice. Voice warm-up (voice and pronunciation exercises).

Day 2: Alexander technique and body use.

Day 3: Introduction to the rules of improvisation.

Day 4: Building a character. Create a character, his/her body language and speech.

Day 5: Imagination and improvisation. Dramaturgical construction.

 

About the Teacher
Aurelia Nolin, has completed her training at ACAT in New York City and is an AmSAT certified teacher. She is a French actress, theatre director and teacher, and has worked internationally. She has acted in films (Summer Tales by Eric Rohmer), television and theater. In 2003, she founded The International Institute of Performing Arts, a nonprofit organization for continuing performing arts education. The Institute produced hundreds of training workshops in Europe which invited international artists to teach and share their artistry and technique.
