French Cooking Class at Pistache NYC

This spring, FIAF is proud to partner with Pistache NYC to offer three different French pastry making workshops! Learn how to make croissants, madeleines, macarons, pain au lait, and financiers while improving your French.

Held at Pistache NYC’s professional kitchen in Brooklyn, these three-hour workshops are taught by chef Nicolas Buchot who will instruct students in making authentic French pastries, while also discussing their history and place in French culture. Executive chef Buchot was born in France and classically trained in the art of baking pasties. He was a finalist in the 2011 “Best Young Baker of France” contest and has worked in France, Mexico, Estonia and NYC’s Maison Kayser before joining Pistache.

Classes are offered at the A1/A2 level and B1+ level.

All levels are offered during the week and on Saturdays, and are limited to 6 participants. Options include croissants, madeleines & macarons, and pain au lait & financiers.

Level A1/A2 workshops are taught in French and English.
Level B1+ workshops are taught exclusively in French.
