Now is the perfect time for kids and teens to brush up on their French with FIAF’s new online refresher courses, designed to provide maximum flexibility for all levels from beginner to advanced.

This accelerated online course reviews a full level’s curriculum, while incorporating music, art, and games.

Fun sessions taught by FIAF’s experienced teachers will feature plenty of interactive conversation and allow students to improve grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Kids (ages 7–10)

Beginner Level 101-102-103
Children will be reviewing how to introduce themselves, talk about themselves and their families, express their dislikes and likes, as well as describe their emotions. They will be reviewing the vocabulary, including colors, animals, food, sport, body parts, clothes, feelings, directions, and numbers.

Intermediate Level 201-202-203-204
Children will review how to express their feelings and wishes, as well as describe their daily activities. They will also review vocabulary including days of the week, months, seasons, and capitals and countries around the world. They will be able to describe others in detail, talk about recent meals, as well as ask and give directions and addresses.

Advanced Level 301-302-303-304
Children will review even more vocabulary, including rooms of the house, wild animals, and nationalities. They will also discover the universe of pirates and think about the environment through fun activities. In grammar, the program will cover gender, action verbs, and passé composé. They will also be reviewing pronouns le/la/les to express quantity. Upon completion of the class, children will easily understand instructions, be able to order in a restaurant, and understand information from an audio guide, a radio interview, and small written documentaries.

Teens (ages 11–14)

Beginner Level 101-102-103-104
Teens will review how to greet someone, introduce themselves, describe a person, and express emotions. They will practice numbers, everyday objects, hobbies, days of the week, months, seasons, hours, family and travel. They will be able to talk proficiently about jobs, housing, and meals. Students will also learn how to have a conversation over the phone in French and make vacation plans. In grammar, frequently used verbs and irregular verbs will be covered. The imperative form, the present tense, the future tense, the passé composé and imparfait past tenses, will be introduced along with reflexive verbs and their usage.

Intermediate Level 201-202-203-204
Teens will review vocabulary and how to describe people’s physical traits and character, as well as the rooms of a house, furniture, general pop culture and health. They will be able to describe their interests and environment, including travel, nature, and city life. The future, recent past, and continuous present tenses will be covered. The conditional tense and difference between imparfait and passé composé past tenses will be learned, and the subjonctif form will also be taught.

Advanced Level 301-302-303-304
Teens will review music vocabulary, and express their opinions on numerous subjects including movies, food, sports, and travel. They will also express more complex feelings and describe their personal goals and aspirations. In grammar, the program will cover imparfait, passé composé, and conditionnel tenses, along with the imperative form . Teens will also describe people or objects while using comparative and the superlative.
