Workshops: Wines of France – All Levels

Beginner A1, Advanced Beginner A2, Intermediate B1, Advanced B2

April 24 and May 22


Spring classes will start live on Zoom the week of Monday, April 6. Lessons will take place online while we are closed and will switch to in-person lessons at FIAF as soon as we are able to reopen.

90-minute / 2-hour classes: You meet on Zoom for the full duration of the class.

3-hour classes: The first 90 minutes of class will be live on Zoom. You will then receive 90 minutes of independent and mandatory work to be completed at your convenience before your next class. The offline activities are a full part of your weekly class. You will be able to connect with your teacher at anytime via an online platform if you have any questions.


April 24: Red wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Côte du Rhône, and the Southwest

May 22: White and rosé from Alsace, Burgundy, Loire and Provence, with a look at sparkling wines such as Crémant and Champagne

Master the fundamentals of French wine!

In this workshop you will gain a solid understanding of French wine, and taste some excellent examples of wines from different French regions. You’ll discover the answers to basic questions such as how French wines are made, how to differentiate between good and bad wine, and how to pair wine with food. This workshop is perfect for you if you want to increase your knowledge of French wine, learn to find the best wine according to your budget, and impress your guests with your wine choices.

This workshop will be conducted primarily in English with some French vocabulary.
