Micro-Folie
A Digital Museum

FIAF Gallery

FIAF is proud to host the US debut of Micro-Folie, a digital museum that brings France’s finest artworks, spectacular performances, and dazzling cultural heritage to audiences around the world.

Micro-Folie was launched by the French Ministry of Culture in partnership with La Villette, a vibrant cultural center in Paris that hosts a wide range of world class events across the arts and sciences. This ambitious and innovative digital archive and educational platform overcomes geography and economics to provide greater access to the arts. The Ministry aims to have 1,000 Micro-Folie sites around the world by 2022.

Micro-Folie allows New York audiences to explore more than a thousand masterpieces. Thanks to the collaboration of 12 notable and diverse founding partners, it features high-resolution images of paintings; video tours of architectural spaces; and full-length videos of music, operatic and theatrical productions.

Founding partners include the Pompidou Center, the Château de Versailles, the Paris Philharmonic, the Avignon Festival, the Institute of the Arab World, the Louvre, the Picasso-Paris Museum, the Orsay Museum, the Museum of Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac, the Paris Opera, the Grand Palais and Universcience.

Through this project, FIAF will join a vibrant network of French and international institutions sharing their resources and best practices in art education, as well as training opportunities and special events.
