Hortense Bernard has always been passionate about wine and especially Bordeaux wine having been raised in a family that has worked in the region’s wine and spirits industry for four generations.
After starting her career at Moët Hennessy Diageo, she joined Millesima, her family’s company, and sought out new challenges in the American market. Millesima USA was established in 2006, and is a subsidiary of Millésima S.A., the undisputed European leader in mail-order fine wines sales. Since June 2012, Hortense Bernard has been the general manager of the US branch.

In her position Bernard has worked to increase the renown of the Occitanie Region in the American market, promoting its various offerings. She has spent several years in the food and wine industry and received her Viticulture and Vinification Certification from the American Sommelier Association in New York. Bernard holds a Master degree in International Marketing from ESC Rennes School of Business.

Born in Aix-en-Provence, Alex begun his education in Vichy and first took an interest in food and wine in 2004. Prior to joining Château d’Esclans in June 2015 where he worked at the global headquarters in Provence for 3 years, Alex spent five years in France studying food service and hospitality, earning a Culinary Arts degree from the Pôle Universitaire de Vichy. He spent time working as a captain in Orlando, Florida for Chef Paul Bocuse in the “Bistro de Paris”. He also lived in Monaco for two years where he worked as a Maitre D’ for Chef Alain Ducasse at the “Hôtel de Paris”. From there, Alex went to work as a head butler at “K2”, a luxury hotel in Courchevel at the top of the French Alps. After immersing himself in French wine culture, Alex returned to the United States where he spent a year working for Chef Daniel Boulud at “Daniel” in New York. Currently, Alex leads on-premise development, tastings and education for trade, media and consumers on behalf of the Chateau d’Esclans portfolio.
