An exuberant dance party celebrating the songs and steps of West Africa, accompanied by live drumming. Dance traditional, ethnic, and urban moves! Kids are invited to dress up in their favorite party clothes.
TILT Kids Day culminates with an exuberant dance party celebrating the songs and steps of West Africa. Inspired by La Sape subcultures of West Africa, dancer and choreographer Jean-Paul Mehansio invites kids to put on their best party clothes to cut a rug in an energizing and galvanizing exploration of West African culture. This demonstration—accompanied by live drumming—of African movements in a communal experience of cultural discovery, will teach kids and parents traditional and more contemporary urban dances to driving beats.
