One of France’s first serial novels, The Mysteries of Paris was originally published in 90 parts between 1842 and 1843 in the newspaper Journal des Débats. The suspenseful story of Rodolphe, a magnetic hero with a noble heart and shadowy origins, became wildly popular, influencing political change and inspiring many classics such as Les Misérables and The Count of Monte Cristo.
Keeping the serial format, this modern animated spin rejuvenates the story with the digitalization of the original engravings.
