Discover the enchanting world of forests at FIAF’s fall TILT Kids Day!

Join us for a day filled with fun and exciting activities including a Drag Queen Story Hour, an arts and crafts session, a musical workshop, and a film screening. Each activity aims to inspire its participants to look at the beauty, variety, and ecological importance of forests.

Presented in a new format this season, FIAF’s TILT Kids Festival will take place in three separate installments throughout the 2022-2023 cultural calendar. Each Kids Day will offer a variety of activities for our youngest visitors, with emphasis on an engaging theme. Stay tuned for announcements about the next programs in this series, scheduled for March and May 2023.

Drag Queen Story Hour with Miz Jade

Drag Queen Story Hour returns to FIAF! Dress up in your favorite outfits and costumes for this 45-minute program hosted by Miz Jade from Drag Queen Story Hour NYC. Children will hear a selection of French and American favorites read in English.

Following the storytime, kids, with the help of their adults, will be able to ask Miz Jade their most burning questions.

Eva Jospin's Build Your Own Forest Workshop

Step into a magical forest, all carefully constructed from raw cardboard! We invite you to this art workshop created with our youngest exhibition-viewers in mind, introduced by November’s FIAF Gallery artist, Eva Jospin. A former student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and former resident of the Villa Medici in Rome, she is inspired by nature and architecture, and is known for her skillfully crafted cardboard works.

In this workshop, each participant will create their own cardboard tree to add to a forest. Workshops will be guided by teaching artist Amélie Gaulier.

Percussion Party with Jihene Serkhane

Join musical artist Jihene Serkhane in the FIAF Skyroom for a percussion lesson on the darbuka. Dr. Serkhane will guide participants as they learn to play the traditional North African drum.

We invite families to stop by throughout the day, from 10am to 5pm, for this unforgettable experience. Discover the beautiful sound and fascinating tradition of this unique instrument!
