Fire in the Head

World Premiere

Thu, Sep 29 & Fri, Sep 30
7:30pm
Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association

A world premiere staged in Manhattan’s Chinatown, Fire in the Head salutes the tortured genius of Vaslav Nijinsky, who, like many artists today, grappled with the confluence between global and personal crises.

Christopher Myers, in concert with Sifiso Mabena, Marcella Murray, Ashley Winkfield, Ismail Lawal, and others will bring to life the famous diaries of this path breaking dancer and choreographer through original shadow puppets he designed and made in collaboration with master craftsmen in Jogjakarta, Indonesia.
