Created for seven male performers, Näss is a piece at the crossroads of the traditional and the modern. Moroccan Fouad Boussouf, dares to confront cultures and generations by creating intense and acrobatic choreography.
Inspired by Gnawa, taskiouine, regadda and ahidous Moroccan dance traditions, Boussouf questions his own roots by combining them with hip-hop, modern-jazz, and contemporary circus. The new identity created through the convergence of the traditional with the modern is assumed by the dancers as their movements transcend cultural borders.
A choreographer, a dancer and a teacher, Fouad Boussouf founded Massala Company in 2006, a company bringing together hip-hop, contemporary dance and new circus.
Company Massala, founded in 2010 by choreographer Fouad Boussouf, draws its artistic vocabulary from hip-hop culture, contemporary dance, the New Circus, as well as the folk dances and music of its native Morocco and the Arab world.
