Ten-year-old Ellie just entered middle school. It’s not easy making friends when you’re shy, so Ellie prefers occupying her time by observing birds on the way to school, on the playground and in library books. One day, the school librarian entrusts Ellie with a rare ornithology book, but when she tries to bring it back, the library doors are already closed. When Ellie decides to return the book in-person to the librarian, who just so happens to live on an island full of birds in the middle of the Loire river off Saumur, it turns into a life-changing adventure!
