Seeking to escape her troublesome family environment, Sophie, 15, jumps at the chance to get the spare keys to her wealthy friend Jade’s house in the northeast of France. While enjoying the home she thought was deserted for the summer, she unexpectedly meets her friend’s older brother Stéphane, who was also planning on staying. Instead of chasing her out, Stéphane lets her stay, inviting in a summer Sophie never expected.
In this charming and delicate film, recalling Eric Rohmer’s tone and sensitivity, newcomer Céleste Brunnquell gives a luminous performance.
“One summer, a teenager squats in a villa, but the son of the family arrives. A delicate and Rohmerian first film, with Céleste Brunnquell, dazzling.” — Télérama
