Post-Screening Q&A with Simon Senn & Tammara Leites
Friday, October 6, 2023
FIAF Tinker Auditorium
School Groups Only • Grades 11+
FIAF’s Young Audience Program invites school groups to a special performance of dSimon, followed by a Q&A with the show’s creators, Simon Senn and Tammara Leites.
Swiss artist Simon Senn uses theater to investigate today’s most exciting and controversial technological development: artificial intelligence (AI). Making its New York premiere at FIAF’s Crossing The Line Festival this fall, the production features Simon Senn, Tammara Leites, and dSimon—an AI entity voiced by French actor Arnaud Mathey—and relates the intriguing story of dSimon’s creation. When Leites trains an AI to become a writer, she integrates it with Senn’s personality, personal data, and messaging. Events take an unsettling turn as dSimon begins to behave strangely, leaving Senn and Leites with a now autonomous, disturbing, and yet familiar monster.
