À la plage: French Cinema by the Seaside

July 6–August 2, 2021
Online & FIAF Florence Gould Hall

Decamping for summer vacation is a quintessential part of French life. FIAF CinéSalon invites you to join in this annual ritual through a selection of films that depict languid days at the French seaside.

The seaside is a place to reset, unwind, and forget your worries. In the summer it is also a place where anything can happen—where one-night stands can lead to budding romances, and hope to deception. From Brittany to the Côte d’Azur, from the Belgian border to the Western Atlantic coast, these films will transport you to shores across France, where tourists and locals mingle, and where love and (mis)adventure rule.
