FIAF mourns the loss of John R. Young, our partner for many years as President and Director of The Florence Gould Foundation.
At the helm of the Foundation since 1983, John R. Young directly contributed to making FIAF’s Florence Gould Hall the vibrant, modern cultural center it is today.
The 360-seat theater, which opened in 1988, was built, and more recently renovated, thanks to the generous support of the Foundation.
Over the years, the Florence Gould Foundation also granted critical programmatic support, allowing FIAF to present a rich cultural season in the theater every year. The festivals, performances, talks, films and outreach programs enjoyed by the community would not have been possible without the Foundation’s generosity and John’s belief in our mission.
We are ever grateful for his long-standing support, cogent advice, and exceptional commitment to furthering the French-American friendship through the arts.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
