FIAF’s annual fall and spring galas—Trophée des Arts and the Art de Vivre Award, respectively—are not only highlights of the social season, but are pivotal ways FIAF raises funds to support our outstanding, year-round education and arts programming.
Trophée des Arts Gala
The Trophée des Arts Gala honors luminaries in business and the arts who have exemplified FIAF’s mission of French-American friendship and cross-cultural exchange.
Held each fall under the patronage of the French Ambassador to the United States and the Consul General of France in New York, well-known figures from the arts, entertainment, media, and business worlds attend this glamorous evening and give their vital support to FIAF.
Trophée des Arts Award
The Trophée des Arts is awarded each year to a distinguished artist or cultural icon. Since 1992, past recipients have included Lauren Bacall, Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, Marc Jacobs, Le Cirque du Soleil, Christian Lacroix, Louis Malle, Charlie Rose, Jeanne Moreau, Jerome Robbins, Robert Wilson, Philippe de Montebello, Alain Ducasse, Angélique Kidjo, François Cluzet, Jacques Grange, Françoise Gilot, Jeff Koons, Peter Marino, and Jane Fonda among others.
The Pilier d’Or
Established in 2006, The Pilier d’Or recognizes a leading business figure, diplomat, or philanthropist for outstanding contributions to the economic and social links between North America and France. Most recent honorees include Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos; Paul Desmarais, Jr., Chairman and Co-CEO of Power Corporation of Canada; Jean-Bernard Lévy, Former CEO of Vivendi; Pierre Bellon, Founder and Chairman of Sodexo; Bertrand Collomb, Honorary Chairman of Lafarge; Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of Renault-Nissan Alliance; Fabrice Grinda, internet entrepreneur; Alexandre de Juniac, Former Chairman and CEO of Air France-KLM; Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman and CEO of L’Oréal; Sidney Toledano, President and CEO of Christian Dior Couture; and Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of AccorHotels
Art de Vivre Award
The annual Art de Vivre Award salutes influential leaders from the luxury, food, wine, and fashion industries for their outstanding contributions as ambassadors of the French art of living in the United States.
This intimate benefit features a cocktail reception in FIAF’s Skyroom, an elegant seated dinner at the exclusive Upper East Side restaurant Le Bilboquet, and a high-end live auction to support FIAF’s cultural and educational programs.
